The village of Bukowice belonged to the Cistercians in Trzebnica until 1810. The present parish church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary was built in 1803-06 as a foundation of the Cistercian nuns, a classicist, single-nave, brick, consecrated, always Catholic.
The interior of the church contains a bell organ, funded by the German Polish community.
The church was given a new polychrome in 1965 by Prof. J. Molga of Warsaw. The Salesians took over the pastoral care of the parish in 1946.
Next to the church is the rectory building from 1840.
