about us

LOWER SILESIAN CYCLING LAND is located in the northern part of Lower Silesia. It is a unique region, which develops and creates an offer for cyclists based on a rich network of cycling routes and paths, unique in Poland nature, monuments and attractions, numerous tourist services and cycling events. We invite you to get acquainted with the region's offer - ROUTES, SITES, ATTRACTIONS AND EVENTS - and the activities of our organisation, which carries out many interesting cycling events addressed both to the inhabitants and visitors from outside the region.

We are a non-governmental organisation (association), which cooperates with local authorities, service providers, organisations and informal groups. Our objective is to cooperate for the benefit of branding the area as a cycling destination, based on its natural and landscape values, interesting history and culture, network of cycling routes (roads and trails), tourist attractions, offer of accommodation and catering facilities, bicycle rentals, shops and services (in the frames of the network Cyclist Friendly Places) and qualified cycling guides, who know the region very well.

In this respect, we carry out unpaid statutory activities. We make our living from the membership fees paid by the local authorities and from the grants we receive. The activities of the Association are managed by the board (14 persons - the administrators of the member communes and districts) and the office of the board, in which two persons are employed - Marta Kamińska and Agnieszka Prucnal.

As regards publishing activities, in particular sales of publications (maps and guides) and gadgets and souvenirs, as well as organisation of paid cycling tours around the Lower Silesian Cycling Area or stays for groups organised on request, we carry out paid statutory activities under the DKR Travel brand. We are registered as a bicycle tour office in the Marshal's Office of the Lower Silesian Voivodship under no. 978.

TOPs | is a mini-guide to local attractions, everything that makes our region special and attracts tourists, and for which we are known and proud. We have also included information on what is worth seeing in the commune. The Lower Silesian Cycling Land consists of three regions: Barycz Valley, Trzebnickie Hills and the Middle Oder Valley - each different, each worthy of attention and a visit. The Barycz Valley is the kingdom of carp, the Trzebnickie Hills are steep climbs, orchards and vineyards, and the Middle Odra Valley offers beautiful riverside landscapes and Cistercian heritage. Read more in the TOPs section.

An absolute must-see during a visit to DKR - the village Świebodów near Krośnice, where Ryszard Szurkowski was born.

EVENTS |  is a calendar of local events taking place in our area from spring to autumn, and sometimes also in winter - public rallies and one-day cycling tours, integrating residents and tourists. Visit the EVENTS subpage and actively participate in the events!

ROUTES | These are field-marked trails or authoritative tour suggestions, which we recommend for independent riding. For each route, you can download a gpx track, read about the attractions along the route, places to visit or restaurants. An important tip is the altitude profile placed next to each route, suggesting the level of difficulty. See more in the ROUTES tab.
