The name High Church is first mentioned in 1296. Evidence of the settlement's existence is provided by a note by Herman Neuling: In 1296, shortly before 24 August, Bishop Jan of Wrocław, while travelling from Nysa to Trzebnica, together with his entourage, in the vicinity of Wysoki Kościół, was attacked, robbed and even wounded himself. This bishop was John III Romka, holding his office from 1292 to 1301.

In 1335, the High Church appears as Alta Ecclesia with the mention of a parish church (this is stated by a certain Otto Schulke). It was German colonists who built a church on the high hill. The settlement got its name from this church. It was a wooden church, of which nothing has survived.

A tower was erected in 1698. In 1714 a new church was built, or to be more precise, a new wooden body was added to the aforementioned tower. At the end of the 18th century, the tower was renovated. It was made of half-timbering and topped with an onion-shaped helmet. In 1794, a bell was founded and a pulpit altar (typical of Protestant churches) was built in the church with an entrance from the sacristy. In 1828, a new brick church was built on a rectangular plan with a square sacristy on the eastern axis, and a tower was erected on the western side in 1890.

The church has a single nave without a separate chancel and is covered with a façade ceiling. D0 1964 the church had galleries and balconies. In 1834, the church received a new organ. The current instrument was made by the Schlag company of Swidnica in 1890. A new vicarage was built next to the church in 1816. There used to be a cemetery around the church. In 1896, a new cemetery was established to the north-west of the church.

The temple in High Church became a Protestant church in 1540 and this state of affairs lasted until 1945. After the war, a German parish priest from Kryniczno, Fr Joseph Gottschalk, blessed the Protestant temple (but not in the sense of dedication - the church is not consecrated) and Catholic worship began to take place there.

In 1964, the church was extensively renovated, bringing it up to date. A veneered main altar, designed by the engineer Krzywobłocki, was erected, as well as an oak pulpit and balustrade; oak pews in 1968 and new confessionals in 1969.

Near the parish church stands the burial chapel of the von Schulze family from 1801, the grotto of Our Lady of Lourdes from 1993, the cemetery chapel of the von Löbbecke family and the new cemetery from 1981, where Father Richard Labe SDS (1940-1994), parish priest from 1989 to 1994, was buried on 5 October 1994.
