In Swiebodow near Krosnice, the hometown of Poland's most outstanding cyclist Ryszard Szurkowski, there is a monument dedicated to him.
A square has been paved with five Olympic circles. Vegetation has been planted in the green, grey and yellow circles. In the blue circle there is a huge stone decorated with two stone plaques: one with the image of the cyclist and the dates of his birth and death (1946-2021), the other with his greatest sporting successes. At the top is a silver bicycle, symbolising the Olympic champion's journey to the top. In the red circle, a pedestal made of stone was placed with a silver eagle, identical to the one in the national emblem of Poland, and with a dedication from friends and residents of Swiebodow that reads: "Richard our dear friend. With hard work, perseverance and drops of sweat you made our country famous. You left pride and emotion behind you. Thank you for your joy and emotion, for the memory of Świebodów".
Next to the pedestals there is a table with benches, a place to rest.
