Zawonia commune - is located in the central-eastern part of the Lower Silesian Voivodship in the Trzebnica district. The commune constitutes 11.5% of the district's area. The Zawonia commune borders with the communes: Dobroszyce, Krośnice, Milicz, Trzebnica.
The Zawonia commune has an excellent location in relation to towns such as: Wrocław, Oleśnica, Trzebnica, therefore it is an excellent starting point for the inhabitants of these cities. On the roads in the Zawonia commune one can often meet cyclists who train on the demanding hills of the Trzebnickie Hills in the Zawonia commune. The most famous, very difficult (long and steep) climb is the Prababka hill between Skotniki and Radłów.
In the Zawonia commune, situated close to Wrocław, there is a rapid increase in the number of new inhabitants, who also recognise the commune's recreational qualities - the beautiful Zawonia hardwood forests, well-kept historical monuments and a thriving cultural and sporting life.
