The Social Cooperative "Szklany Świat" Bombki was established in 2009. The founders are employees of a now-defunct cooperative in Milicz, where for several decades they had been mainly involved in the production of Christmas tree ornaments. A few people decided to try their hand at it and created a piece of what was a landmark of the Barycz Valley region known almost all over the world. The cooperative's activities include making baubles, organising tours and education. Employees make glass Christmas tree decorations using a traditional method. Round, moulded and shaped baubles are made by hand. During your visit, you can learn about the process of making glass wonders: from blowing through silvering to hand-painting. Everyone can try their hand at decorating their own bauble and take it home with them.
The offer is aimed at anyone interested in this increasingly rare profession in Poland and around the world.
Target groups - school children and young people, organised groups, companies, individual domestic and foreign tourists. The entrance ticket is a bauble with a name, which is made to order in advance. A guide takes care of the entire tour. He informs about the successive stages of making the glass ornament.
The first stage - HAND PRODUCTION - workers manually create various glass shapes from a glass tube.
Second stage - SILVER BRUSHING - an employee uses silver nitrate to give the bauble a mirror-like shine.
Third stage - DECORATION SECTION - baubles are hand-decorated by ladies decorators.
Fourth stage - COMPANY SHOP - all products can be purchased there.
Additional offer for those wishing - paid bauble painting lesson. The participant can take their own Christmas tree decoration with them.
