A cycling route running through the most beautiful areas of the Barycz Valley, bordering the communes of Żmigród and Milicz. We recommend starting the route in Żmigród, at the car park at OSiR (Sportowa Street). You can comfortably access the S5 from Wrocław/Poznań and leave your car here for the whole day (large free car park) or take a train, but you can also start in Sułów, Ruda Sułowska or Osiek.
ROUTE: Żmigród OSiR - Osiek - Kanclerzowice - Przedkowice - Sieczków - Książęca Wieś - Gruszeczka - Sułów - Łąki - Ruda Sułowska - Grabówka - Niezgoda - Ruda Żmigrodzka - Jamnik - Żmigród ZPK - Żmigród OSiR.
To Sułów the route follows the ideal cycling route along the route of the former narrow-gauge railway, through forests, just crossing quiet villages with beautiful buildings. Then the edge of Milicz, through the village of Łąki, leads along a picturesque road under old oaks and among ponds to Ruda Sułowska. In Ruda Sułowska you pass CET Naturum - the educational and tourist complex of Milicz Ponds, with a hotel, restaurant, fishing museum etc. You can stop here for a short or longer ride. You can make a short or longer stop here (we encourage you to take part in the Fotosafari excursion by guided melex to the ornithological reserve).
Then, from Ruda Sułowska the road leads through a picturesque, winding karst to Niezgoda and the mosquito statue. A small section of the route leads in the direction of Olszyny Niezgodzkie along a provincial road, where you should be extra careful, although there is not much car traffic. In Niezgoda, by the crocodile monument, we turn left towards Ruda Żmigrodzka, which we reach after a few kilometres. The road is exceptionally picturesque, winding, overgrown with age-old oaks with spreading crowns, and on the left we can admire the Niezgodzkie Olszyny - marshy alder habitats. In Ruda Żmigrodzka, we cross the Barycz River to ride again along another pond where interesting bird species can often be seen, with their young in spring. We are asked to keep quiet.
In the Jamnik village, we enter perhaps the most beautiful section leading along the embankment over the wide floodplain of the Barycz River, which will lead us near the Palace and Park Complex, from where it is not far to the OSiR. In the ZPP it is worth stopping for a longer time, visiting the Baszta or taking a ride in the phenomenal park with numerous unique exhibits of trees and bushes and souvenirs of the former Hatzfelds.
