The Palace and Park Complex

This huge site includes the restored ruins of a castle dating back several centuries and a historic tower. The ruins of the past are surrounded by 5 hectares of renovated parkland. Tourists and residents alike can confidently enjoy its assets. Naturally occurring ponds are not everything. Families can enjoy barbecues and picnics on the designated island area. Visitors can go kayaking, fishing, have an outdoor wedding session or play boules. Less active visitors can simply enjoy the natural surroundings and calm down in the fountain, which is activated at fixed times. Those interested in further discovering the charms of the Barycz Valley can also rent a bicycle and go on a trip along designated paths. In spite of the numerous attractions, the youngest travellers will probably still be most excited about the children's playground.

In the very centre of the ruins, an underground venue - the "Castle Restaurant" - has been established. Tourists enjoy the menu of Polish and Italian dishes on offer here. However, do not head there to obtain information material about the region. A special tourist information point "Baszta" has been set up for this purpose. Visitors and locals alike can rent canoes there, buy local gadgets or ask any other questions they may have about the tourist offer.

The centre of the renovated Market Square is occupied by the historical Marian Column. Nearby, there is a pillory, which arouses fear. Unused since ancient times, it is a unique addition to the "Heart of Zmigrod".

The square is particularly charming in summer and winter. In the hot season, we can experience refreshment under a misting water sprinkler. During this period, many people come here in the evening with their children. The fountain sparkling in a variety of colours is an extraordinary attraction for every little one. In winter, on the other hand, the inhabitants of Żmigród and tourists like to take photos against the background of the Christmas decorations. Of particular interest - year after year - is the Christmas tree of Żmigród.

Visitors can use the "health walking and cycling paths". People can often be found practising various sports here. Running, cycling, Nordic walking. Accessible footbridges allow hikers to comfortably navigate the wetlands. Owners of four-legged friends like to use the "PSIGRÓD" dog playground. Anglers, on the other hand, like to use the public piers. Near the "Biodiversity Gardens" are; a food truck with proprietary burgers "Mr Japa Street Food" and a children's playground.

In addition to recreation, the creation of an ecological retreat had another important purpose. An important aspect was to enrich the biodiversity of plant and animal species living in the Barycz Valley. This resulted in an increased environmental awareness among the regulars.
